Lydecker Secures Win for the Town of Miami Lakes
Attorneys Joan Carlos Wizel and Onier Llopiz of Lydecker represented the Town of Miami Lakes in a recent case in which the City’s former Mayor, Mike Pizzi sought $3.25 million in attorney fees after a public corruption acquittal.
Judge Mavel Ruiz agreed with the argument made by Wizel and Llopiz, which underscored that under the town’s theory, it doesn’t matter that Pizzi was acquitted, given that his actions still carried a “taint of private interest.”
