Professional Experience

Jason Gutknecht is an Associate at the firm’s Miami office.  Mr. Gutknecht concentrates his practice in first-party property defense litigation, with an emphasis in bad faith litigation, fraud investigation, water damage claims, and windstorm coverage issues.

Prior to his professional career as a lawyer, Mr. Gutknecht attended West Virginia University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Following undergrad, Mr. Gutknecht spent a year working for a cream cheese manufacturer as a consumer products intern. Mr. Gutknecht was then awarded a Deans Merit Scholarship to attend the University of Miami School of law, where he graduated cum laude.

While attending law school, Mr. Gutknecht interned at the Miami-Dade Public Defenders Office, assisting with the defense of indigent clients in county court. In his final year of law school, Mr. Gutknecht worked as a law clerk at a civil litigation firm where he worked closely with senior counsel on a variety of legal matters involving professional liability, breach of contract, consumer protection, and employment disputes.
