William Bassett, Jr. is an experienced trial attorney in personal injury and insurance defense litigation. He has tried in excess of sixty (60) jury trials. His primary areas of expertise include automobile, general negligence, premises liability, products liability, security cases, sexual battery, trucking and workers' compensation.

He has tried federal jury cases to verdict and he has extensive law firm management experience. Mr. Bassett has been admitted to practice in Louisiana and Florida. He is also admitted to practice in the Federal Courts in the Southern District of Florida (1975), Eastern District of Louisiana (1982) and Middle District of Florida (1988).

Mr. Bassett received a B.A. from Florida Atlantic University and his Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern University where he graduated Cum Laude. He began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender with trial and appellate experience in the Fourth District Court of Appeals in West Palm Beach, Florida.

He has also owned his own private insurance defense firm in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, practicing workers' compensation defense; in Louisiana he was a partner at Blue, Williams & Buckley, a Louisiana insurance defense firm. Mr. Bassett was an associate with Coker, Myers, Schickel, Cooper and Sorenson, an insurance defense firm in Jacksonville, Florida. He was also the Supervising Attorney for Cigna's Staff counsel in Jacksonville, FL. Recently, Mr. Bassett was Managing Attorney for Aetna Casualty & Surety's Staff Counsel for South Florida. Subsequently, Mr. Bassett was the Managing Attorney for the Boca Raton, FL location of Stiles, Taylor and Grace, a state-wide worker's compensation defense firm.

Mr. Bassett has prepared, mediated and tried Liability Cases and Worker's Compensation cases in the New Orleans, Louisiana area as well as Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, Monroe, Orange, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Collier, De Soto, Lee, Sarasota, Charlotte and St. Lucie Counties in the State of Florida.
